Primary and Supplementary Porridge Diet for Fever: A Microbiobe Provider

Abstract

The Siddha medical system is a traditional medical system that originated more than 3,000 years ago in South Asia. It provides a comprehensive understanding of nutrition and health based on specific and unique concepts and theories. As stated by the Siddhar’s our human body is made up of aimbutam [five elements] in the form of vatham, pitham and kabam, known as tridosham. Health is defined as being in balance with oneself, but inextricably linked with the environment, changes in these tridosham lead to disease states. Siddha Medicine’s strength lies in its holistic approach. That is, simple lifestyle habits (postures, breathing exercises, meditation, etc.), six palatable diets, the use of safe and effective drugs, preparations of plant origin and mineral and animal origin. Siddhars recommended certain basic eating habits, lifestyle principles, and preventive measures to help prevent disease. The quotes said by Sage <em>Theraiyar</em>, “<em>Kudal thanilseethamalaathusuramvarathu”</em> Decreased functioning of <em>Agni</em> leads to the formation of <em>Aamam</em> in stomach leads to fever, which is a sign of various pathological condition. This article briefly reviews about <em>Aamam</em>, foods and porridges which would be taken to prevent as well as at the time of <em>Suram</em> [fever]
